NetMassDownloader crashes on Vista

Aug 20, 2008 at 5:36 PM
I set up symbol cache in VS 2008 and the started the tool as recommended:

C:\Program Files\NetMassDownloaderv13>NetMassDownloader.exe -d "c:\Program Files\Reference Assemblies\Microsoft\Framework\v3.5" -d "c:\Program Files\Reference Assemblies\Microsoft\Framework\v3.0" -v

After giving me several "Not available" messages it "stopped working", and when I opted for "debug", I got an unhandled IOException: "Cannot create "C:\VS9_SymbolsCache\System.Web.Extensions.pdb" because a file or directory with the same name already exists."

Well, yeah, it exists.  So what?  Use it, don't complain about it. :-/

Do I have to dispose of all the symbols in the cache before running NetMassDownloader?

Thanks!

Hi Bazarov,

I will check the issue, but for sure as a shortcut purge the folders and run NetMassdownloader again,
if it is a bug , i will schedule it for 1.5 release.

Best Regards
